Psychotherapist, MSc Psychotherapy Studies, Diploma in Integrative Counselling, Reg MBACP.
I have been providing psychotherapy and counselling in the Guildford area for over 15 years. I hold an MSc in Psychotherapy as well as a Diploma in Integrative Counselling (Person-Centred and Psychodynamic), and regularly attend training programmes for continuing professional development.
I have completed the VACTS training in Caring for People Affected by Alcohol and Drugs, as well as the RASASC training in counselling those affected by rape and sexual abuse. I have also completed specialist psychotherapy and counselling training in Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and have worked for many years counselling people affected by cancer and bereavement
My approach is tailored to your unique needs and circumstances. In our counselling sessions, you and I will work together to address what is affecting you now, to develop the awareness you need and tools for responding to life’s challenges in ways that work best for you. Therapy is a process of piecing together the puzzle of who you are and where you come from as it relates to your current struggles, taking into account the tapestry of your life and your own personal experiences and background.
I take a practical approach, focussing on problem solving, helping you to understand what motivates you and what holds you back from personal growth. My aim through psychotherapy and counselling is to leave you with skills that can be applied outside of the therapy sessions, to manage challenges, anxieties and patterns of thinking more easily on a day-to-day basis.
